2011 House of Delegates News

“It’s a Small World”
President Lisa Okamoto celebrates “Reach Out, Connect, Grow“

CDHA celebrated “Maximizing Opportunities” at this year’s House of Delegates.  Over 300 delegates, officers, students and special guests letting their voices be heard attended the magical Annual Session held June 3-5, 2011 at the Disneyland Hotel.

Speaker of the House, Lin Sarfaraz, RDH, AS convened the delegates, welcomed all attendees and opened the session with the Magnolia High School color guard who led the assembly in the Star Spangled Banner.  Lisa Greenshields from Sacramento Valley component shared inspirational thoughts.  Rhonda McMorran brought greetings from Orange County component.

President Ellen Standley, RDH, MA welcomed all in attendance to the CDHA Annual Session/House of Delegates and thanked the host components Sacramento Valley and Peninsula.

President Standley gave the state of the association address stating CDHA represents dental hygienists in California and acts in the best interest of the entire profession.  As an association we have a strong voice and are able to be heard in all the key places affecting advocacy, standards of practice, access to care and oral health promotion.  The support, talent and friendship of colleagues and fellow leaders help maximize many opportunities.
