The House of Delegates adopted the following policies and bylaw changes:

  • To amend the Bylaws by reducing the number of goals from six to three.
  • Achieve autonomy of dental hygiene education, licensure and practice.
  • Serve as the recognized authority for the profession of dental hygiene.
  • Advocate direct access to registered dental hygienists.
  • To amend the Bylaws by renaming the New Technologies Council to Information Technology Council.
  • To amend the Bylaws to allow for two voting student delegates at the House of Delegates.
  • The Bylaws were also amended to clarify a quorum as the maximum possible voting members at  the House of Delegates.
  • Adoption of the 2006/2007 budget.

The “Celebrate the Future” drawing was held at the close of Sunday's installation luncheon. The lucky winner of the $2,000 gift certificate was Daphne Von Essen, RDH, from the Santa Barbara   component. The winner of the Dentsply Cavitron Unit was Helen McCracken, RDH, from the  Orange County component.
